My wife helped me develop the initial "sleaze" role for James Matthews. We were driving from our home in St. Joseph, Michigan, to South Haven, Michigan, and I had her list all the things a man can do to turn off (repulse) a woman. We talked about a lot of different things and from that list, I selected a few to bestow on Mister James Matthews, astrophysicist and antworm.
5’7” 180 lbs., brown hair, dark brown eyes (they appear black because of the "enhancements"), a little flabby. (Robin Williams. He is one of the few actors that has the range of skills to pull off the Matthews character. As Peter Banning (in Hook), he fits in general condition and build.)
The nickname "Matt" is preferred and he detests being called Jim or Jimmy, mostly because his parents called him by those names. "Jamie" is something only his closest friends call him.
