The Collected Shorts of Thomas Nevin Huber

No, this isn’t my laundry. I decided to assemble my short stories into a collection, so my readers could get some insight into what I went through to prepare my writing skills. With one exception, these stories have all been published electronically, and one of them was reprinted in a literary publication. They didn’t earn me any money, but they did provide me with the opportunity to experiment using different writing styles and approaches. Because some of the introductions tended to give away the plot of the story, I’ve moved them to the end of each story.

The Short Stories

Come Into My World

Thanks to Ralph Rumpf, whose own short story provided a moment of inspiration for this story.

Bradley

The cornerstones to Star Spawn: The Waken Incident.

Meriweather and Henroid, Or...

If you are like most, you won't like this one... That's because it hits too close to home.

The Writer

Take a look into the future, into the future, into the future, into the future...

Bummers

My special thanks to Rick Arnold who gave me the challenge that inspired this gem.

Her Living Tribute

I didn't intend to become a regular contributor, but I sure enjoyed the challenge. What is most interesting about this story is that I was able to put it to good use in the second Star Spawn novel. And, my thanks to Rick Arnold for the "challenge" and then publishing the results.

I Give Up

Another one credited to Rick Arnold. I don't know if he appreciates this one, but one reader called it bizarre.

And It Shall Not Be Your Last

Written for the premiere issue of Dream Forge, this became the introduction to The Cleric, the fifth Star Spawn novel.

Clones To Us!

Rick Arnold took this one and published it when all I wanted was a critique. It wasn't finished. He offered to publish the completed version, but I declined, since I still wasn't happy with the ending.

George

Dr Pepper provided the inspiring first three sentences, and I took it from there.

Echoes of the Past

The Tale of the Norkcei's discovery.

Voices in the Night

Inspired by a co-worker.
