Spam

Important Note

If you have received spam from someone at one of the Star Spawn domains, it was sent by a spammer using an infected system, not this site or any of its mail systems. If you still suspect a problem with the site and want me to check further, please e-mail me at the address on the links and contacts page. My Star Spawn mail systems are very small with less than five actual users. A new spamming trick is to use bogus names with a real domain name in hopes of having you visit a particular site. If you receive an e-mail directing you to a site other than one that ends with .star-spawn.net, DO NOT VISIT IT! I suspect it will contain bad stuff, which can exploit an unpatched browser or operating system and infect your system, leaving you open to any kind of vicious attack, including identity theft.

If you want to take an active part in fighting spam, visit spamcop (see the address in my Links and Contacts page). Do not hesitate to report any spam received, even if it is from someone at star-spawn.net. Also, if you do not normally receive mail from me (and very few people do), feel free to put star-spawn.net in your filters as a means to block spam from spammers using my domain address.

The original page contained a lengthy discussion about spam. I've decided not to include it because if you've used the internet at all, you likely know quite a bit about spam, phishing, and all the rest of that good stuff. Even if you don't there is a lot of good information available from sites dedicated to exposing and fighting spam.
